BR: Beasts vs Lizardmen, Summary
Just a recap of my game this last weekend, it was pretty instructional.
You need to remember I was taking the game as a League game a bit more serious than my opponent. So he was trying out things just to see how they worked.
1. A beastherd charging skinks in the house, was a gimme, and we both just wanted to test how the building assault rules worked.
2. Figured out that Minotaurs eat Kroxigor for lunch. And then spit them out again.
3. I really need to be careful of order when he goes to stand and shoot if I have a spawn who can also make the charge.
4. Even with the markers down, I forgot to roll for unruly once.
5. While Temple Guard die, getting that damn frog to break without a lot of static res like a herd to assist, is really hard.
6. Remember, no +1 armor save from flank. Remember no +1 armor save from flank. Remember, NO +1 armor save if I'm on his flank!!
7. That Hellfire sword is still nasty as hell. But given the chance, the dice will just screw me over when I use it. That will hopefully stop this weekend.
My opponent for this game is a good friend and we have known each other for years. He is always a great opponent and I have a great time playing everytime we meet.
Until next time...

His trying stuff out offers some explanation for those overly agressive Temple Guard. I don't quite see what he could have done with that list, but advancing with the Saurus was certainly not the right answer! :)
I don't understand why the frog was so hard to break. With the TG wiped out, you should have at least 4 minotaurs touching him - 2 in front, 2 beside. Really 5, as one unit should be getting 3 in. 12 attacks, 8 hits, 5+ wounds, 2-3 after ward save. Plus flank, numbers, and he's testing on a 5 or less.
That is exactly the last round of combat. I had 2 in front, 2 on side. So 12 attacks.
He is also WS 4, so 4+ to hit.
I did 6 hits and 4 wounds.
Exactly average. He saved 3 on 4+. His saves were pretty amazing.
So I had US, flank, 1 wound. He had BSB, so I win by 2. Ld 7 on 3d6 with a re-roll.
I'd have to do 3 wounds to get him down to 5.
Odds were it should have been a 6+. But with 3d6 that is like a 7.5. Which I calculated out one time around 65%.
Now, add in the re-roll and he an almost 90% chance of success.
I'd say that was tough to break.
Whoops! I didn't realize Slann were Ws 4.
