Bouyou Battle GT: 1 week and counting
We are now in the final 1 week countdown to the first real GT of the new year. Sorry to Sooie, but a tournament where your opponents are hand picked by the organizer does not qualify.
My painting this week has been anything except on schedule. But I have managed to get a few things done.
Last weekend I finished off all three characters.
I also managed to get my 2 spawn, built, green stuffed, based and primed.
Sanded my display board down and got the design drawn on it.
This week I started painting my spawn, but I got no painting done on them Tuesday or Thursday as I worked late both days. This has put me waaaay behind on them.
I did manage to get my display board finished. All I have left to do is give it a coat or two of sealer. Its not as fancy as most, but I like it and its better than nothing.
I also managed to find some Dark Red spray paint to do my movement trays with and some Testor's dull cote to respray my miniatures that have come out too shiney with the Krylon Satin clear coat.
So here is everything I have left to do in the last week:
1. Finish painting the 2 spawn. Everything else is secondary.
I have to go to my son's school dance tonight, but I'm still planning on painting tonight afterwards, do some on Saturday and then Sunday morning and night to hopefully finish by Sunday.
2. Base and paint all 10 movement trays.
3. Add flock to all 10 movement trays.
4. Add Static grass to all miniatures and movement trays.
5. Spray coat display board.
6. Add more highlights to my Rat Ogres. They look too brown compared to the rest of the army. Hopefully this will give it a bit more uniform look. I'm just going to line all 20 up on my table, and just go down the line and had some flesh highlights to the muscles.
7. Dull coat the entire army.
8. Take pictures then pack up to go.
So thats what I have left. Seems like a lot right now, but hopefully they will go down fast. Most is glueing on base stuff and spraying.
I do have another League game Sunday that will take too many hours, but I'd like to get it in before the GT.
I'm starting to get really pumped, I can't wait for all the players at the Boyou to get to look at the completed army. I think people will really like it. And I'm looking forward to some serious slaughtering of my opponents next weekend.
Until next time...
