1st Centaur Chaos Knight
Tonight I finished up the first Centaur chaos knight for the new warriors of chaos book. As I will be running my Centaur army as chaos marauders and knights.
So here you go.
This is a shot of the left flank. I think the tatoo on the left back haunches came out well.
This is a front shot, and came out a bit bright from the flash.
And finally the right side.
Would love to hear some comments on him.
Until next time...

I like the treatment on the base. Would like to know what the steps are.
The horse hide areas seem flat and almost chalky. But, I am wondering if that is just the flash. The axe handle, glove and vambraces areas turned out well. There is a hint of some good eyes but it is hard to tell without being closer. I also like the tattoo.
They would be better looking images on the blog if you could crop off most of the background. I think that would be do-able without losing any centaur pixels.
Thanks for the feedback.
The reaper brown also looks a bit chalky to me to. But it is also coated in Testor's dul cote so it give is that dull flat look. But there is really 6 different layers of color on it. ;)
As for the base I do as follow:
1. Glue dirt and rocks to the base.
2. Prime it white with the rest of the model.
3. heavy watered down black (1-1 or even 2-1 water to paint) to go over the whole base. Get in those nooks and crannies.
4. After that dries, do the sides with a thick black. A bit of water to keep it smooth, but thats all.
5. Watered down dark green. About 2-1 paint to water.
6. Use Bright green, just a bit of water to make it smooth. More like dry brushing here.
7. Then sky green, hitting the high points.
8. I then sprayed the whole model with dul cote.
9. Finally, add static grass.
