The Cowboys: 1 yard short

It seemed like that was the totallity of the Cowboys season. They seemed to be just one player short, 1 dropped ball short, 1 extra step short, 1 pass rusher short, 1 yard short.

Romo, deffinetely looked nervous out there in the first half. A lot of his throws were in the grass or way over everyone's head. It also looked like he was looking to dump the ball off short everytime instead of taking a look up field at a pedestrian set of cornerbacks. Romo just had no faith in that offensive line to keep the rush off of him.

The Defense looked pretty good until after the safety when they gave up the deep touchdown. That was just way too easy.

The Refs looked like they were definetely on the homer side as ticky tack defensive holding calls were whistled against the cowboys all day long prolonging the Seahawks drives even when the balls were no where close to being caught. It was really sad after awhile.

But the Cowboys didn't help themselves with several dropped passes led by TO. Again!! What is with this guy?? And he wonders why people don't like him. He did nothing, and I mean NOTHING this year to warrant his paycheck. Too many times he dropped balls on critical passing downs. And in his usual form, dropped a 3rd down pass so we had to punt.

I do think the Refs got the final call right, as the Seahawks did stop Witten short of the first down on the 2 yeard line. But Romo has got to put the ball down for the kicker to have a chance for the field goal. And after he fumbled it and got up, just seemed like he couldn't get his feet moving. That he hesitated and that cost them the yard he needed to get the first down and win the game.

But what I think really cost us the game were 2 plays.
1. When the score was 17-13 there was a 3rd and short. We tried to run and of course failed. Settling for the field goal, for a 20 - 13 lead. With a little imagination, we get that ball out of the middle where they were packed in and make that first down, get the touchdown and go up 24-13. That would have broken the Seahawks and this game would have been over. Instead we run Barber up the middle and are 1 yard short.

2. Perhaps the biggest play of the game, Glenn with the fumble on the 1 yard line. That was just rediculous. You've got to protect the ball better than to have it jabbed out so easily that led to the safety. That was just insane and changed the whole momentum of the game, breathing new life into the depleted Seahawks.

But as mentioned earlier. In the end, we were 1 yard short on the pass play before the fumbled field goal. Then on the subsequent scramble, Romo was 1 yard short of the first down to still give us the win.

On the up note, I think next year looks very bright. We get Leon Lett back to help with that pass rush that died after he went down. Romo gets a year better. Hopefully, we draft a couple good offensive linemen. And are ready to tear it up next year.

Go Cowboys!! A fan forever.

well, dont think leon lett is coming back any time soon...

TO, as much as i dont like him did an incredible job. had the 3rd best season in cowboys reciever history. that isnt too shabby. although no one remembers anything but key drops...which killed everyone in the end.

the only problem with this team is that it is mediocre, ok at best...nothing more. cant expect anything more than that.

and with mediocrity in the nfl, it dooms you to mid-level draft position so you dont get the superstar. yet, you dont win championships.

so on to next year...
