More Warhammer 7th changes

This should be the last of the set of changes. If you go back and read all my previous posts, and then all the rumors that are out there, you should have a pretty good grasp on the new 7th ed rules.

1. Table quarters now require a unit strength of 5 to capture or contest. No more single model contesting a quarter.

2. If a unit is in 2 table quarters, then he captures/contests the side he has the majority of models on. He doesn't get to pick.

3. If a enemy unit is at half its models, you earn 50% vp. And you earn half vp for single models who have suffered at least half their wounds. So now all those 2 wound heroes, you managed to put 1 wound on, now give you some vp. This will play really heavy when combined with the miscast chart.

4. If you want to re-roll a casting spell for whatever reason. You cannot pick out a few dice to re-roll. You must re-roll the entire casting. Not sure how this will work with the Staff of Change. But the rule is pretty clear.

5. You can no longer dispel any spell that is in affect with the specific exception of Remains In Play spells. All Lasts one turn spells, spells not specifically noted as last one turn but were and those with some indeterminent affect, that is not a RIP, cannot be dispelled in any manner.
Glad they cleaned this up.

6. Clarifies very clearly what happens if after a unit flees, and is moved. Then a unit goes to pursue, doesn't roll as high, but should catch the unit. (Usually because they were a flanker). The pursuing unit does NOT catch the unit but is stopped 1" back.

7. Monsters who lose their handlers/riders, will always use their own Leadership for all remaining tests in the game. Not just their monster reaction check. I guess this is to compensate for the much improved monster reaction chart.

8. New monster chart: If you fail your monster check roll 1d6:
1-2: Monster is controlled but is subject to stupidity for the rest of the game. (remember stupid stops if you are in combat.)
3-4: Monster cannot move and is unbreakable, the rest of the game.
5-6: Monster controlled normally, but has Frenzy that never ends and Hatred for the rest of the game. (HUH!??!) Ouch.

Enjoy. I can't wait to get my first 7th edition game in.

I thought you always gave half vps for a character reduced to half wounds or less. I have always done this.

no, in 6th ed. the rule actually read over half wounds. So for 2 wound characters you either got none or full.

Now they have corrected this.
